AJBCC is proud to announce the launch of its Future Leaders Speaker Event Series. This new initiative builds on the success of the Future Leaders Program, which was established in 2014, with the aim of ensuring the long-term strength of the Australia-Japan bilateral relationship by fostering the development of the next generation of business leaders.
Through exclusive in-person events, the Speaker Event Series offers the Future Leader network the opportunity to access first-hand insights from high-profile senior executives and government officials. For our inaugural event, we are delighted to welcome Ms Rowena Albones, Managing Director of Projects APAC at Rio Tinto, for a fireside chat followed by informal networking.

Managing Director Projects, APAC of Rio Tinto
Rowena, has nearly 25 years of experience with Rio Tinto. She has held diverse financial and commercial roles across Australia, United Kingdom, Canada and Mongolia and represented Rio Tinto in joint venture leadership positions and external relationships.
In her role as the Managing Director - Projects, Rowena is responsible for safe construction and delivery of new mines and infrastructure required for our future Pilbara operations. Previously she was Chief Financial Officer – Iron Ore where she oversaw financial and business performance and was responsible for environmental approvals required for our development projects. Prior to this Rowena was Chief Financial Officer of Growth and Innovation and Chief Financial Officer Copper.
Rowena holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economic and Finance and an MBA, both from Curtin University.
