Mr Growder is currently First Assistant Secretary of DFAT’s Strategic Communications Division. Prior to that, he led DFAT’s Capability Taskforce and briefly acted as FAS of Climate Diplomacy and Development Finance Division. Mr Growder established DFAT’s Trade Expansion and Diversification Branch in February 2021, having returned from posting as Deputy High Commissioner in Kuala Lumpur in late 2020. Alongside earlier postings in Beijing (public affairs, 2012-2014) and Hanoi (economic/trade, 2005-2007), Mr Growder has led various FTA negotiating teams; led the FTA Advocacy and Outreach Branch in promoting Australia’s north Asian FTAs to the Australian business community and public; worked on China economic and trade issues; and authored two published economic analyses for DFAT. Prior to DFAT, Mr Growder worked at the Reserve Bank of Australia (from 1997 to 2000).
Mike Jones is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in sports travel. He is the Events Manager with Gullivers Sport Travel, a world leader in providing supporter packages for major sporting events globally. He has held this position since 2016
Prior to his involvement with Gullivers, Jones owned and operated Total Sports Travel from 1999 to 2011, building it into a multi-million dollar turnover business catering to sports enthusiasts.
Peter is the CEO of NSW Rugby and heads the NSW Positive Rugby Foundation, a foundation that uses Rugby as a vehicle to address social issues in communities, changing lives and utilises Rugby’s unique values.
Peter is a result driven person utilising the skills he has acquired through his participation in elite level sport combined with his professional experience in high performing management positions.
Peter has had a celebrated sporting career as an Olympic Rower 1992 & 1996 Olympics and high-performance manager Fiji Rugby where he was instrumental in taking the Flying Fijians to the Quarter Finals at the 2007 Rugby World Cup.
Peter is motivated by using his vast experiences, from being an Olympian to a high-performance manager, to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. His passion lies in applying the life lessons and skills he has gained as an athlete, sports administrator, manager, leader, and coach to positively impact those around him.
Glenn Williams OLY is a former professional baseball player and a two-time Olympian, representing Australia in baseball and earning a silver medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics. After a distinguished playing career, Williams transitioned into leadership roles within the sport, notably as General Manager of High Performance and now CEO of Baseball Australia.
His strong connections in Japan, cultivated through collaborations with Nippon Professional Baseball and the city of Fuchu, have been instrumental in fostering international partnerships that benefit both Japanese and Australian baseball.
Williams has also pursued advanced education, completing programs at the Melbourne Business School, the Australian Graduate School of Management at UNSW Business School, and Harvard Business School, further enriching his leadership and strategic expertise in global sports management.
Ian is Vice President of AJBCC, Chair of the AJBCC's Major Events & Sport Advisory Committee, and Chair of NEX Building Group (Australia’s largest home builder owned 82% by TSE-listed Asahi Kasei).
Ian is a director of ASX-listed companies, New Hope Corporation and Lindsay Australia and was a partner in international law firms for 20 years working on Japan-Australia business. Ian is the only person to have represented both the Australian Wallabies and Japanese Brave Blossoms.
